After 2 years of COVID-19 lockdown and restrictions, QS Top Universities organised an in-person event at The Leela, Mumbai. Panellists from 15+ Universities across the globe joined this event to connect with the student and discuss their questions about higher education.

We received more than 883 registrations out of that 287 students showed up at the event. Students were all ready with the questions and excited to meet the panellists. Our QS support team were all set at the registration desk, announcing to the students to scan the QR code they have received after the registration. All the students have the QS Events Portal app downloaded on their phones getting ready to scan and enter the first session – Jobs of the future with the panellists.

We scanned the QR code and guided the students into the seminar room. The session started with the introduction of the panellists from 3 universities followed by the questions from the QS representative to set up a stage.

The students were curiously listening to the University Representatives and many of them had queries to discuss with them. Yes! that was the moment I was waiting for with my mobile phone in my hand typing listening to the question and typing as quickly as possible to capture the details.

Their questions were music to my ears!

I interacted with a few students and asked them open-ended questions about the events discovery, registration process and overall events experience. I did not want to take much of their time and kept my questions limited as they were there for something important. Many of them were happy to discuss their experience and give their suggestions.

After the panellist’s session, there were presentations from universities to help them understand higher education abroad and a fair which had booths with all the University’s Reps. It was great to see students networking with each other, asking questions to University Reps, and discussing their desired subjects, university rankings, scholarship info, CV, SOPs, etc.

As a part of the events domain in QS, I received a lot of information and support from the QS Events Team. They shared their experiences handling in-person and virtual events in QS Top Universities. Finally, the event ended at 9 PM and it was time to say goodbye to all the students, participating universities and the QS colleagues whom I met for the first time.

The event helped me a lot to connect the dots between students’ online and offline activities and behaviour.
